You have graduated from Rockfield N.S.

To our wonderful 6th Class; you have officially graduated from Primary School,

It is hard to believe we parted so abruptly, what we thought was for a few weeks. I still remember the pupils’ faces clearly, who looked at me kindly and sincerely with such maturity, and told me to “stay safe”. I was proud of my leaders of the school; you are a great example to all the pupils below you. The staff and I thought highly of our 6th Class and looked forward to a lovely June to celebrate your time with us; sadly it was not to be.

You will love your exciting new chapter in life and I hope you carry many happy memories from Rockfield National School. Always remember that you’ve played such an amazing part in society by social distancing. It is very easy to forget or become complacent. You are part of history that we will never forget and please god, we will return very soon to what we are all aiming for, normality in our community. Have a wonderful summer and I hope the sunshine returns.

Just to finish, I want to share this very special, simple prayer that I love. This is for all of you, 6th Class of 2020, who will ALWAYS be remembered as part of our school’s history.

I said a prayer for you today

And know God must have heard-

I felt the answer in my heart

Although He spoke no word.

I didn’t ask for wealth or fame,

I knew you wouldn’t mind,

I asked Him to send treasures

Of a far more lasting kind.

I asked that He’d be near you

At the start of each new day

To grant you health and blessings

And friends to share your way.

I asked for happiness for you

In all things great and small-

And it was for His loving care-

I prayed for most of all.

Best Wishes, stay safe and God Bless,

Ms. Scanlon
