Creativity Takes a Ride in Third Class

Third Class explored line in art through our Loopy Line Rollercoasters lesson. The children began with a continuous line, creating hills, curves and loops before adding tracks, supports, colour and their own imaginative details.

The activity brought art and maths together as we explored parallel and intersecting lines. Designing the rollercoasters helped the children develop pencil control, spatial awareness and planning skills, while giving them the freedom to express their own ideas.

Our display celebrates the variety of their designs, from colourful looping tracks to carefully drawn supporting structures. Each drawing shows an individual approach to the same creative challenge.
