This week marks the 7th annual Clean Air Week, from the 17-21st November. The challenge is to investigate air quality outside our school and find ways that we can help to keep it cleaner. Sligo Sport and Recreation Partnership (SSRP) have linked with Orienteering Ireland to create awareness of orienteering and encourage families to get active this winter. On November 16th, there will be an orienteering event taking place in Hazelwood Forest, Sligo. There are three 3 options available so it is suitable for those who have never orienteered before and also those who are very experienced. Junior Infants, Senior Infants and First Class had a lovely trip to the church earlier this month to see Fr. Gerry and his beautiful autumn harvest display. They enjoyed spotting all the colourful fruits and vegetables!

The children and teachers had a fantastic Halloween Fun Day, dressing up in all sorts of creative and spooky costumes! Everyone enjoyed the lively Halloween parade and the excitement of the raffle. All proceeds from the event will be donated to Tubbercurry Cancer Support. What a fang-tactic day it was!

Today was a great day in our Junior and Senior Infant classroom. It was Halloween Dress-Up Day! We had witches, superheroes, skeletons, and fairies but to name a few. We also made some barmbrack. The children were fascinated to learn about the old Irish tradition of hiding special tokens inside. We put a coin in ours.
