Exploring Our Celtic Heritage
In Fourth Class, we had great fun learning all about the Celts and their way of life in Iron Age Ireland. We discovered that they lived in roundhouses, were skilled farmers and warriors, and were talented craftspeople who worked with iron. These are special human-made bridges that help animals move safely from one place to another without coming into contact with roads or other busy human infrastructure. Ms Dohertyâs class have been very busy exploring the wonderful country of Spain! They learned lots of interesting facts and made many connections between Spain and Ireland. They discovered that Spain, like Ireland, is in Europe and also uses the euro as its currency. They found out about delicious traditional foods like paella and explored many Spanish buildings. The children were particularly amazed by the beautiful Sagrada FamĂlia and hope to visit it someday! đâ¤ď¸

6th class Ice Cream Experiment
This blog was written by CaolĂĄn in 6th class. Good Day. 6th class did an experiment on Thursday to see if we could make ICE-CREAM! The ingredients were salt, ice, sugar, cream[250mls] and milk[250mls]. Our equipment were 2 plastic zip lock bags and 27 spoons [1 to mix the liquid mixture] [26 for all the kids to eat it]. The method we used was, we put the ice and salt in one of the zip lock bags and in the other one we poured the cream, low fat milk and the caster sugar then

Catholic Schools Week 2026
Catholic Schools Week was celebrated from the 18th-24th January under the theme, âNormal Lives, Called to Holinessâ. Students took part in prayer, fun activities and acts of kindness that remind us how we live out our values every day. Each day, the Student Council shared thoughtful reflections over the intercom.

St Brigid
âSt. Brigid of Ireland, help us, we pray, to be kind and loving in our work and play.â Second Class enjoyed weaving some beautiful St Brigidâs cloaks and we loved making our own crosses to hang over the door in our homes. Thank you to Sixth Class for helping us to weave our crosses.

St. Brigidâs Crosses in Ms Dohertyâs Room đ In preparation for St. Brigidâs Day, our 6th class pupils visited Ms Dohertyâs class to help the children make St Brigidâs crosses. Everyone had great fun working together and helping one another. What a special way to mark St. Brigidâs Day!

Exploring Space and Art in Ms. Dohertyâs Class đ đ¨âđ
The children in the First Class room have been very busy exploring inspiring figures, starting with local Mayo astronaut Norah Patten. They created rocket ship artwork inspired by her story and love of space. The children also learned about artist Andy Warhol and made another art piece using his bold, colourful style, enjoying experimenting with bright colours and patterns. Their creativity is truly out of this world! đđ¨
