Term One in Second Class⭐️

Second Class have had a great first term at school. We have been busy learning, exploring, making memories and having fun together! Here are a few snapshots of some of the moments we’ve shared so far.

We completed some beautiful autumn art pieces. We printed some leaves to create our cute hedgehogs. Did you know that hedgehogs and bats are the only true hibernators in Ireland? Our autumn trees were created by making tertiary colours and by using pointillism techniques. We used oil pastels to make our beautiful Mid-Autumn Festival pieces. We learned that this is a festival which is celebrated in China, Singapore and Vietnam.

We are very proud of our Teeth display. We discovered the different types of teeth and why it is so important to look after them. We also learned about making healthy food choices and visiting the dentist.

We had lots of fun preparing for Halloween. We created some Spooky Scary Skeletons to accompany our assembly performance of this song. We carried out a Fizzy Halloween Potion experiment. We loved seeing the potion fizz up! We also learned about Pablo Picasso’s way of painting, called Cubism. We created some Frankenstein monsters based on Picasso’s work.
