Our corridor is full of colourful hot air balloons! We made our artwork to celebrate the Irish Hot Air Balloon Championships at Lough Key Forest Park in Boyle.During the championships, balloon pilots and their crews come together for a week of flying challenges. The event has a special connection to Boyle: the championships first came here 50 years ago, in 1976. Inspired by the balloons in the sky, the children painted blue backgrounds, added fluffy cotton wool clouds and used bright, crumpled paper to give their balloons colour and texture. They finished each one with strings and a basket. Every balloon has its own design, and the children took great care with the colours and details. Together, their artwork makes a wonderful display. Well done, Third Class!
