World Down Syndrome Day is marked each year on the 21st March. The 21st day of March was selected to signify the uniqueness of the triplicating of the 21st chromosome which causes Down Syndrome.

The Student Council made an announcement over the intercom to encourage everyone in our school to wear odd/different coloured socks on March 21st to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day. We watched an animation video during assembly in which Chloe, an eight year old girl explained Down Syndrome.

It was great to see all the colourful socks in our school and celebrate on this special day.
