Good Day. 6th class did an experiment on Thursday to see if we could make ICE-CREAM!

The ingredients were salt, ice, sugar, cream[250mls] and milk[250mls]. Our equipment were 2 plastic zip lock bags and 27 spoons [1 to mix the liquid mixture] [26 for all the kids to eat it]. The method we used was, we put the ice and salt in one of the zip lock bags and in the other one we poured the cream, low fat milk and the caster sugar then we mixed it with one spoon. We placed the bag into the bag with ice and sealed it. Then we passed it to each other and shook it like it owed us money. When we finished shaking it, we each got a small spoon of it. We also watched a video on it.

The salt was added to lower the freezing temperature of water from 0 degrees Celsius to -6 depending on how much salt is added. This would help the ice to stay frozen and transfer the cold energy to the creamy mixture.
